Winners of the Finance Director of the Year Awards 2008
Over 440 guests gathered at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Friday 29 February 2008 for the prestigious annual Finance Director of the Year Awards. Sponsored by Bank of Scotland Corporate, and supported by ASA International with CA Magazine as media sponsors, the Awards honoured the outstanding contribution made by three finance directors towards the success of their respective organisations. The guest speaker was Ian Marchant, Chief Executive of Scottish & Southern Energy.
The Awards, established in 1992, were awarded in the categories of public / not for profit, corporate and young finance director of the year. Over 60 nominations were received for the 2008 Awards.
The award in the public / not for profit sector went to Lynn Brown, Executive Director of Financial Services at Glasgow City Council. Duncan Skinner, Chief Financial Officer of Production Services Network, was the award winner in the corporate sector. And the winner in the young finance director of the year category was Brian Aird of Wood Mackenzie.
Managing director of ASA International, Iain Moir says the quality of the entrants this year was very high. He says: "On behalf of the panel, I would like to acknowledge the achievements of all our entrants and congratulate the winners on their success."
